Zalto Denk'Art Austrian Crystal Wine Glasses Now Available in U.S. Market
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 20, 2008 -- The Zalto Denk'Art line of fine Austrian crystal wine glasses is finally available in the U.S. Imported by Winemonger of Los Angeles, this stemware line has long been a favorite of European sommeliers and wine enthusiasts.
Francois Mauss, president of the Grand Jury European, enthuses: "I didn't think that there would be anything better on the glass market...this glass is."
The line is produced by the Zalto Glasshutte in Lower Austria, a family business whose roots reach back to the famous glass artisans of Venice. Each glass is mouth-blown of the finest Austrian crystal, and while the result is a wine glass that is feather-light and supremely elegant, the glasses are lead-free as well as dishwasher safe. "In fact," importer Emily Weissman says, "we recommend putting these into the dishwasher. They don't cloud or scratch, and the only glasses we have broken are those that we tried to hand wash. They appear fragile, but are actually quite durable."
The line was named for Father Hans Denk, the Austrian wine priest who has spent decades in the study and tasting of wines, and who is one of the most valued wine experts in Austria. "Clear supremacy of the development of taste and bouquet," is how he explains the advantage of this series of glasses.
The curve of the bowls are tilted at the angles of 24, 48 and 72 degrees, which are in accordance to the tilt angles of the Earth: a triumvirate of angles used by the Romans to improve the taste of food and drink. "Perhaps it sounds esoteric, but the results truly do speak for themselves. Every wine is simply better when served in a Zalto," confirms Austrian wine importer Stephan Schindler.
Early buzz on the glasses was first heard here in the U.S. in the wine blogs and wine forums of the internet, such as the Robert Parker Bulletin Board, where they have already become a cult object.
The importer has made the stemware available direct to the consumer via their retail website: www.Winemonger.com. The line includes different glasses called Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, White Wine, Universal, Sweet Wine and Water. Winemonger is also an importer of fine boutique Austrian wines, which they can ship direct to consumers in 27 states. Wholesale inquiries to 1-800-608-8230.
